Hi! I'm Janet Clark, Librarian at St. Eugene School.
I want to invite you to visit our library and become familiar with where your children come to browse for books, learn library usage, and do research. I have been a school librarian in many different school districts throughout my career and retired from Putnam City Schools, Ralph Downs Elementary, in 2002. I was fortunate to come to St. Eugene School to work part-time in August, 2002, and have thoroughly enjoyed my fellow teachers, the children, and the parents here at St. Eugene.
Our St. Eugene School Library serves our students, faculty, and parents by providing them a comfortable, quiet place to select books, have reading time, and promote reading through author studies, storytime, and library instruction. Students visit the library with their class and also can come individually, with teacher's permission, to return or select a new book.
We have a dedicated group of volunteers that assist me with circulation, shelving, processing of materials, and of course, book fairs. Students participate in the Oklahoma Sequoyah Reading program, Accelerated Reader program, and occasionally we have guest authors in for a visit. It's always exciting to meet an author or illustrator!
