Uniform Policy

- Parent Info

- Uniforms are required for all students in Grades K through 8.
- Uniforms are optional for Preschool.
- CSSE's official, contracted uniform company is Flynn O'Hara, an online retailer.
- We do not require embroidery on shirts.*
  - *Flynn O'Hara sells embroidered version of shirts when you shop through our school link. You may not purchased embroidered items elsewhere.
- You may purchase basic required items such as polos, dress shirts, shorts, and pants from other sources if you prefer as long as they are indistinguishable from Flynn O'Hara. See the overview of normal uniform options.
- Dress uniform is required for all K-8th students on school Mass days (usually Thursday)
- You can find ties (required for K-8) at Flynn O'Hara.
- Girls may opt for a normal dress shirt collar instead of the Peter Pan collar with dress uniform.
- The only approved skorts (optional item) come from Flynn O'Hara.
- Girls in K-5th may also wear the Flynn O'Hara knit polo dress in navy. (Exclusively from Flynn O'Hara). It will come embroidered with our school logo. You may NOT purchase elsewhere.
- Students may also wear performance style polos as part of their non-dress uniform.

  - navy (6-8th only)
  - Performance polo color options are available from FlynnO'Hara, but these colors may be purchased at any retailer as long as the colors closely match our regular uniforms. NO LOGOS or embellishments! (Local Target and Old Navy stores often have approved styles in stock).
- Fleeces (optional item) with logo may only be purchased from Flynn O'Hara
- The school will periodically offer crewneck navy sweatshirts with screenprint logo for sale. This is for normal uniform, not dress uniform.
- Students may wear white, black, gray or navy socks.
- Uniform clothing is also available from PTO Uniform Exchange for free.

FREE DRESS DAY GUIDELINES
Students may always opt to wear normal uniform.
Students may wear free dress on specially designated days. In general, free dress is attire that is appropriate for school activities and is not distracting, demeaning or degrading to self or others. All clothing and appearance should reflect the values of The Catholic School of St. Eugene.
Clothing should be neat, modest and appropriate.
Tops: Neckline may not be lower than three finger-widths from the collar bone—including button placket; Shoulder straps on shirts or dresses must be at least 2" wide.
The hemline of dresses, skirts, shorts should be no more than 4 inches from the top of the knee cap.
Jeans/Pants (no rips or holes) and athletic pants must fit properly; not too tight.
Leggings are appropriate with dress or skirt or tunic style top.
All shoes, make-up, jewelry, and hairstyle policies remain the same as in the handbook.
Short shorts, halter-tops, spaghetti straps, shirts that are too short (bare midriffs), low cut blouses, clothing that is extremely tight, and clothing with inappropriate messages are not permitted.
Please guide your child in selecting the appropriate attire for free dress. When in doubt, do not wear it. Violations, as determined by the principal or teacher, will result in the student calling a parent to bring appropriate attire, and loss of the next free dress day

SPIRIT DAY DRESS GUIDELINES

Students may wear either their normal school uniform or a St. Eugene spirit shirt (any year, any sport, any club, etc. as long as it was officially offered through the school) along with jeans or uniform bottoms. No homemade creations, please
Jeans/Pants (no holes, rips, colors or embellishments) must fit properly; not too tight. NO JEAN SHORTS, JEGGINGS, OR SKIRTS.
Girls may also opt to wear their spirit shirt with uniform skirt, uniform skort, or uniform jumper.
